We set off last week to explore the Mossel Bay Harbour and hopefully get some lovely nautical images. We did manage to get into the harbour and discover a fantastic frozen fish shop but sadly we were not allowed to take any photographs. As a wonderful compensation we ate a delicious lunch of calamari, hake and chips at the Sea Gypsy Cafe located on the harbour wall.

Po-ta-toes said Sam. The Gaffer’s delight, and rare good ballast for an empty belly. But you won’t find any, so you needn’t look. But be good Sméagol and fetch me some herbs, and I’ll think better of you. What’s more, if you turn over a new leaf, and keep it turned, I’ll cook you some taters one of these days. I will; fried fish and chips served by S. Gamgee. You couldn’t say no to that.
Yes, yes we could. Spoiling nice fish, scorching it. Give me fish now, and keep nassty chips!
Oh, you’re hopeless, said Sam. Go to sleep!”

Think we should go there for lunch when we come and visit!
I battle to photograph birds in flight – they are too quick for me I think.

You need a fast shutter speed Mands about 1/500 up to 1/4000th of a second to freeze the motion of something moving from left to right. xxx
