All eyes feasted on the centre buffet table groaning with cakes, pastries and other delights until the signal was given to tuck in, then the sound of scraping chairs, cutlery, crockery, excited chatter and stampeding feet filled the air.
Another successful Ladies Tea, held by the Knysna Cake Committee and hosted by the Riverdeck Group, a very social occasion enjoyed by both young and old.
To be entirely honest, I just come for the cake & tea at these Charity Events but I also love the venue which lies within a renovated old farmstead and features the “Old School Hall” with its antique sash window frames and yellowwood floors.
Another attraction is the charming mountain stone chapel housing restored wooden pews and boasting beautiful stained glass windows. Riverdeck is a popular wedding venue and the chapel, although intimate can comfortably seat up to 80 people.
Isn’t the chapel a delightful little building?

Hi Moira,
This looks absolutely delightful. What a lovely venue – you have captured the event so well. When I win the Lotto (no luck last week) I will definitely come and take some lessons. x S
