You’ll get no argument from me, young love is beautiful. The freshness of youth, that exhilarating feeling of euphoria, the endless plans for the future when your world and everything in it is covered in golden, sensual, gloriously wonderful fairy dust.
However, I put it to you that mature love is just as beautiful, different but still immensely beautiful. Yes? No? What do you think?
“And he took her in his arms and kissed her under the sunlit sky, and he cared not that they stood high upon the walls in the sight of many.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien
“You can talk with someone for years, everyday, and still, it won’t mean as much as what you can have when you sit in front of someone, not saying a word, yet you feel that person with your heart, you feel like you have known the person for forever…. connections are made with the heart, not the tongue.”
― C. JoyBell C.
“Your smile and your laughter lit my whole world.”
― Ranata Suzuki
“Well, it seems to me that the best relationships – the ones that last – are frequently the ones that are rooted in friendship. You know, one day you look at the person and you see something more than you did the night before. Like a switch has been flicked somewhere. And the person who was just a friend is… suddenly the only person you can ever imagine yourself with.”
― Gillian Anderson
“A truly sensual woman is the kind of woman only a man with a deep soul can intoxicate and satiate.”
― Lebo Grand
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
― Lao Tzu
“It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche
“Love is like the wind, you can’t see it but you can feel it.”
― Nicholas Sparks, A Walk to Remember
“Come sleep with me: We won’t make Love, Love will make us.”
― Julio Cortázar
“May your love for me be like
the scent of the evening sea
through a quiet window
so I do not have to run
or chase or fall
… to feel you
all I have to do
― Sanober Khan, A Thousand Flamingos
