“Have a mind so quiet,
that you can hear doves whispering
as they rest their wings
in the rafters of your silent sanctuary”
― Kate Mullane Robertson
This sweet little Laughing Dove has made her nest under our house, safe from wind, rain and scorching sun.
Faithfully she sits, hour upon hour, keeping her eggs warm and cosy until her babies emerge, blind and naked. A loving mother, she will care for them until they are able to fly and equipped to make their own way in the world.
“I wish I were a bird. I’d fly all the way up to the clouds and look down on this place,
and then I’d go far away and never come back.”
― Jason Medina, No Hope for the Hopeless at Kings Park
“Your world is as big as you make it.
I know, for I used to abide
In the narrowest nest in a corner,
My wings pressing close to my side.”
― Georgia Douglas Johnson
I wish you peace,
Moira
