There is nothing better than a friend…

There is nothing better than a friend, unless it is a friend with chocolate.

My beautiful Polish friend Magda (of the Spiders Fings blog-post-fame) visited all of us at Custard Cottage last weekend and spoiled us with Belgian chocolate, delicious flavoured olive oil from Italy and a stunning Swarovski Crystal pendant.  We haven’t seen each other about 3 years so it was great fun catching up with each others news and my golly gosh little Magski has been busy.  Since I last saw her, she spent 3 months in Italy learning to speak Italian more fluently, tied the knot with Nicola, a gorgeous Italian man and changed her career.

What a marvellous time we had: we laughed, we cried, chatted up a storm, walked on the beach, bought divine food from the Wild Oats Market and ate and drank like there was no tomorrow.

There is Polish saying that goes like this:

Jak cię widzą, tak cię piszą

What you see is what you get

That is one of the most refreshing things about Magski, no pretence, no posturing,  simply – What you see is what you get.

I wish I was able to spend more time with all the special people in my life but I’ll take what I can get, even if it’s only a weekend once in a blue moon.
