What are little boys made of?
What are little boys made of?
Frogs and snails
And puppy-dogs’ tails,
That’s what little boys are made of.”
My final port of call and the main reason for me visiting Johannesburg was my dear friend Natachia and her twin boys Tristan and Tyler.
I take my hat off to her, one little boy can be a handful but two!
Add to that a pressurised, high-profile job and being a single parent! Fortunately she has the help of Sevelina, a wonderful Nanny who has been part of the boys lives since they were only a few months old, the boys call her “Nana”.
One thing that struck me about Tristan and Tyler is their close bond and how wonderfully they interact with one another, playing, fighting, forgiving, playing again.
It’s like having your best friend with you 24/7.
The first two days I really had trouble telling the boys apart and even after that I only got it right some of the time.
These two have so much energy, it’s no wonder they eat almost non-stop.
I shudder to think about the cost of Natachia’s grocery bills when they become teenagers…
One afternoon we had lunch at a gorgeous garden nursery where we fed some bunnies.
Tell me that’s not a mischievous little face…
I had the most fabulous time with my lovely friend, she spoiled me rotten and we had plenty of girl time, cosy chats and special moments. This is my favorite image of the three of them.
Can you see the love?

My favorite pic is definitely also the last one! I think any mommy would say ‘awwwwww’. . It really says it all. No matter how the little monsters drive us up the wall, a kiss like that just fills our hearts and makes the difficult moments seem inconsequential . . Beautiful, Moira.
