Color directly influences the soul. Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another purposively, to cause vibrations in the soul.”
― Wassily Kandinsky, Concerning the Spiritual in Art
Autumn is visiting us here at Custard Cottage, the leaves are falling and many plants are getting ready to settle down and snuggle in their beds for the winter but there is still a lot of colour found in the garden, if one will just slow down long enough to notice it.
The birds love the shiny red berries of the Mountain Hard Pear and moss just makes everything green and pretty, doesn’t it?
I think this little snowdrop is a tad early for Spring but nevertheless I am delighted to see her beautiful white head.
I love all the shades of pink that the Cosmos has to show.
Itsy-bitsy spider relaxing on a weathered log and the pinks and purples of the Bromeliad flower.
The sunny yellow flowers of the Tick Berry and the Hibiscus in all it’s glory. The little plant bottom left of the collage is a flowering Tillandsia or Air Plant, it has no roots and is just propped between two branches of the Tick Berry tree but yet it thrives and bears these magnificent magenta and purple blooms.
Isn’t Nature the most mysterious and wonderful thing?
All my love
