A house is not a home without a cat in the window”
– Moira du Toit, Animal Spirit
I pass by this house often, exasperatingly almost always without a camera, and on the rare occasion I see a cat in the window.
For some reason I’m drawn to windows and doors; animals in windows are my ultimate, remember my post on Bobby, the doggie in the window?
These are such beautiful windows too, I love that Duck Egg Blue colour and the sash windows harken back to my pre-teen years when I lived in Ireland – all those lovely old houses.
Imagine my delight when I realised there was not only one but two cats living in the Duck Egg house; the cherry on the cake was managing to photograph them both in the space of about ten days.
A window—it’s more entertaining than TV. Just ask a cat looking out, or a man looking in on a life he desires.”
― Jarod Kintz, This Book is Not FOR SALE
My favourite image is the one of the Tuxedo cat. In full formal evening wear he stares out of the window, impatiently waiting for his limo to arrive.
Yours ’til the cat meows

I would love to see you get a shot or 3 of our lot in the windows.
Back home safe and sound, well mostly…
Please sit when you read this, I am still sick to my stomach – my camera fell out my bag at the Giraffe sanctuary in Karen, Kenya so will not be able to finish my homework! I will submit in the next day or 2 what I can. URGH!!! Cannot believe it happened.
