I recently had the privilege of documenting this sweet baby’s christening. What an auspicious red letter day for her, surrounded by the love and prayers of friends and family and I have no doubt a host of angelic beings were present too.
The christening took place at the quaint Riverdeck stone chapel near Buffels Bay but what made the ceremony extra meaningful and poignant was that Miss C’s Grandfather performed the ceremony.
It also goes without saying that every girl need a special outfit for an occasion such as this.
“And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair”
― Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet
“And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said “Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”
“You know what the great thing about babies is? They are like little bundles of hope. Like the future in a basket.”
― Lish McBride, Hold Me Closer, Necromancer
Grandma “E” wanted photos of all 6 of her grandchildren…
All the boys…
…and the girls!
“It’s a good thing babies don’t give you a lot of time to think. You fall in love with them and when you realize how much they love you back, life is very simple.”
― Anita Diamant, The Boston Girl
“Cake is happiness! If you know the way of the cake, you know the way of happiness! If you have a cake in front of you, you should not look any further for joy!”
― C. JoyBell C.
“The tots both started laughing. On the same day. I’m now obsessed with getting them to do it. Babies laughing is like opium.”
― Neil Patrick Harris
“Babies are such a nice way to start people.”
― Don Herold
“Her eyes are wide and steady beneath the brim of her floppy cap. How far out of infancy do we lose this gaze, with its utter absence of expectation or prejudice? What is it like to simply see what is before you, without the skew of context?”
― Michael Perry
I’d like to end this post with a sincere wish for you, my precious Miss C – may the blessing of divine light be upon you, light without and light within… all the days of your life.
