FEELING BLUE

“Hold on to your divine blush, your innate rosy magic, or end up brown. Once you’re brown, you’ll find out you’re blue. As blue as indigo. And you know what that means. Indigo. Indigoing. Indigone.”
― Tom Robbins, Jitterbug Perfume

A bird.
I wish I was a bird.
I could be free.
If I wanted to leave I could spread my wings,
And let the wind take me.

If I needed some fresh air,
I could open my wings,
And let the wind retrieve me.

If I needed some alone time,
I could unlatch my wings,
And let the wind own me.
I wish I was a bird.

– Abi England

“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”

― Leonardo da Vinci

“The sky grew darker, painted blue on blue, one stroke at a time, into deeper and deeper shades of night.”
― Haruki Murakami, Dance Dance Dance

“I need the shade of blue that rips your heart out. You don’t see that type of blue around here.”
― Cath Crowley, Graffiti Moon

“There is a trick to flying. The angels told me.” He had smiled at my wide-eyed awe. “You need to forget everything you know as a human being. When you are human, you discover that there is great power in hating the earth. And it can almost make you fly. But it never will.”
I had frowned, not quite understanding him. “So, what’s the trick?”
“Love the sky.”
― Anne Fortier, Juliet

“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.”

― J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

I just know somebody is going to ask me for the settings of the above painterly image, so here they are – Canon 24mm pancake lens, f7.1, ISO 100, Shutterspeed is 1 second – Edited in Adobe Lightroom and I wiggled the camera up and down slightly while the shutter was open.

Catch you later,
Moira
