Kim and Alan first approached me to photograph their wedding a year ago, there were a couple of unforeseen setbacks but finally the long awaited day arrived and what a glorious day it was.
The weather was just right, the location divine and the intimate gathering of a small group of supportive, loving friends and family made the event extra special and extremely moving.
The venue for this gathering was the Cloud 9 Luxury Estate Villa, built on a 2 million year old sand dune high above Swartvlei Lake with breathtaking 360º views. The architecture for this unique property was inspired by ancient Zimbabwean ruins.
Kim and Alan also used the opportunity to formally bless their family too, with each of their 3 girls signing a certificate of Sisterhood after the ceremony. Needless to say, there were a few tears shed during the event. Happy tears.

The sun was beginning to set, time for celebration and feasting
The food was delicious and the courses just kept coming
At the closing of the day, final speeches and a wash of blue and gold as a cloudy sunset sky reflects in the rim-flow swimming pool.
