FAQ

WHAT EQUIPMENT WILL I NEED?

A DSLR camera & access to computer and the internet.

I AM A COMPLETE NEWBIE WITH NO TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE CAN I STILL TAKE THE CLASS?

Yes of course you can, we welcome newbies at the Incremental Photographer as long as you have a DSLR and internet you’ll be hunky dory

DO I HAVE TO LOG ON AT A PARTICULAR TIME?

No.  There is no class timetable, you’ll have 24/7 access to the classroom.  Your textbook will indicate the reading material for the relevant week and each week an assignment is set relating to the lessons covered for that particular section.  All assignments are due by Sunday evening so it’s important to carve out enough time during the week (approximately 4 – 5 hours) to study, practice and submit your assignment. I will be available during the week to answer questions and give assistance where necessary.

CAN I GET A REFUND?

The cost of US $99 for the online class is non-refundable (convert to your currency here).  If something unforeseen does come up before the class begins, please contact me to discuss your options.

WHEN DOES CLASS START?

Class starts (2021 – date to be advised on enquiry)

Once you have registered for a class you will receive a couple of emails:

• An email confirming you are registered for the class and the class start date
• A week before the class starts an email outlining exactly how the class works, advice on how to get the most out of your learning experience and instructions on how to create your unique WordPress student user name for access to the private online classroom.
• 24 hours before the class starts you will receive an personal invitation from The Incremental Photographer to become a viewer/member of the private classroom. As soon as you accept the invitation you can sign in and start browsing the classroom.

WHAT IS WORDPRESS?

WordPress is a probably the easiest and most powerful blogging and website system in existence today and it’s free to join.

You only need to sign on as a user to access the private online classroom but you also have the option of signing up for a free blog as well if you like.  A WordPress blog enables you to post your images each week to share with friends, family and the world! It’s a nice platform to showcase your work on even long after the class is complete, you also have to option to keep your blog private if that is what you prefer.

I’ll send you instructions on how sign up for a user name or a user name & blog just before the beginning of the class.

WHAT FORMAT IS THE TEXT BOOK IN?

The text book and the assignments come as downloadable pdf files that can either be stored on your computer or transferred to an I pad or mobile phone.  You can read it in adobe acrobat reader or whichever pdf viewing application you prefer.

HOW LONG WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO THE WORKSHOP MATERIALS?

A personal copy of the workshop text book and assignment pdf’s are yours to keep forever.  You ‘ll have access to the private classroom for 7 weeks once class begins, so be sure to download your material during that time.

WILL THIS CLASS TEACH ME FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY?

Sorry, no.  This class teaches you how to work with available natural light, indoors and outdoors.

WILL I LEARN HOW TO EDIT & POST PROCESS IMAGES IN THIS CLASS?

Sorry, no.  Post processing is discussed very briefly but does not include editing lessons.

The class fee is in US dollars – do you accept payment in other currencies?
