The first time Juan laid eyes on Katja he was smitten, there was something so special about this smiling yogi with the laughing eyes that intoxicated him. Little did he know that it would be some months and a whole lot of living before they met again yet he never forgot her direct yet honest gaze, the confidence with which she faced the world and how comfortable she was in her own skin. Katja was unlike anyone he had ever met before.
Months passed, each of them in different countries, leading separate lives until fate stepped in once again. This time Katja paid a little more heed to this gentle, quietly strong and beautiful (her words not mine) surfer with the blonde ponytail who seemed to be so very interested in her.
What can I tell you? Their energies mingled, the planets aligned, I’m sure there were some shooting stars with angels doing happy dances in the background and before long they were promising themselves to each other.
That’s what happened this beautiful day at a ceremony by the river in front of friends, family and the Divine.

Dream catchers hanging in the trees, candles ready for lighting and magic waiting in the wings.

Hand painted place markers languishing in the dappled afternoon light ready for the feasting to begin.

“Beware of her fair hair, for she excels
All women in the magic of her locks;
And when she winds them round a young man’s neck,
She will not ever set him free again.”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“The very first thing I saw was his eyes, bluer and brighter than the sea itself. They gazed at me, so dazzling, and for an instant I couldn’t even feel the pain. I was too overcome by the handsomeness of this sandy haired boy”
― Rebecah McManus, Colliding Worlds

“A feather when viewed separately may seem like only a feather,
But when seen through the eyes of truth it is a sacred instrument that lifts a bird in flight.”
― Molly Friedenfeld

Snoozing in the shade waiting to say, “I do too!”

His face lights up just at that very moment he first sees her rounding the bend in the path, smiling she’s walking towards him arm in arm with her brother, her face is radiant and she is so ready to embark on this journey together with him.

Nothing beats the joy of being loved by someone. Non matter who you are or what you have.”
― De philosopher DJ Kyos

“I wanted to tell her that I loved her, and not in the complicated way I loved our parents, but in a simple way I never had to think about. I loved her like breathing.”
― Brenna Yovanoff, The Replacement

“Friends are the family you choose (~ Nin/Ithilnin, Elven rogue).”
― Jess C Scott, The Other Side of Life

“There is a latent fairy in all women, but look how carefully we have to secrete her in order to be taken seriously. And fairies come in all shapes, colours, sizes and types, they don’t have to be fluffy. They can be demanding and furious if they like. They do, however, have to wear a tiara. That much is compulsory.”
― Dawn French, A Tiny Bit Marvellous

An absent friend sent a cardboard cut out in his stead. He was a big hit with the ladies, especially that evening during the feasting when they all wanted to dance with him at the same time…

Then it was time to write messages of hope and love for the couple and send them lovingly down the river on paper boats and rafts made from wood, leaves and flowers.

There were some very big rafts…

and some teeny ones.

“A river seems a magic thing. A magic, moving, living part of the very earth itself.”

“I’d spend my last breath kissing you.”
― Gracin Sawyer, Saving Lily
