Last week I had the pleasure of photographing some of the fabulous outfits designed and worn by the elegant and beautiful Mankoana Nhlebela.
Mankoena is the owner of UKARA, an online fashion store that provides simplistic, elegant and versatile ready-to-wear apparel for women.
This lady is dynamite! Not only is she passionate about Ukara but Mankoana is also Senior Manager at a telecommunications company and married with 3 children.
A women empowerment enthusiast at heart, she co-founded ‘Motherly Love Baby Shower’ a NPO that aims to empower under-privileged mothers-to-be. As if that wasn’t enough she’s also a transformational speaker and holds the title of Mrs South Africa 2nd Princess 2018.

The first two outfits were photographed at Dover on Sea a lovely beachfront B & B in Sedgefield, Western Cape and to complete the session, we moved on to Myoli Beach. The sky was a wash of overcast grey creating a neutral backdrop for the gloriously vibrant garments.

“Don’t do it for applause. Do it because it ignites a fire inside you.”
― Hiral Nagda”

Mankoana was a dream to work and this photo session was so much fun, even with all the running up and down sand dunes and getting my backside well and truly wet by a sneaky wave!

We squeezed every last drop of light from the day, shooting way past sunset and deep into Blue Hour.
