There is a hope that a dog injects into every walk, more than a hope – an expectation, really – that this is going to be something wonderful. ‘You’ll see, says the dog, something great is going to happen- just you wait.'”
― John Zeaman, Dog Walks Man: A Six-Legged Odyssey
One of the drawbacks of being married to this photographer, is that every time she needs to check out a new location, try a different lens or practise photographing in a certain type of light; it’s the spousal duty to step up and act as model.
I’ve been wanting to try out a couple of things with my Canon 85mm lens but it’s winter here in the Western Cape and I had to wait for simply ages for an early evening that wasn’t overcast or excessively cloudy.
There were no complaints from the canine gallery, the dogs are always up for a walk. Tails wagging, off they go!

Paddington stopped for a drink in a muddy puddle, will you just look at that dirty face! Ruby – the picture of contentment, walking is her most favourite activity; besides eating, that is.
There’s a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they’re absolutely free. Don’t miss so many of them.”

I am so grateful to live in this beautiful part of the world and have the opportunity to enjoy so many gorgeous sunrises and sunsets.
The sun was setting, everyone was getting a little tired…
That’s a wrap. Thanks everyone, time to head home.
The image below is my most favourite one from the shoot.
All my love
